Ahead of their recently concluded rematch, at UFC 257, Conor McGregor had promised to donate $500,000 to Dustin Poirier's charity. Out of respect for Poirier and his wife Jolie who are
trying to help underprivileged people through the foundation, McGregor said, he'd love to help the cause Conor McGregor has kept his word even in defeat.
The donation will help underprivileged communities in Poirier's hometown of Louisiana, get rid of a variety of problems ranging from food insecurity to health care. It will also help forward Poirier's dream of building a gym to help underprivileged youth train combat sports.
Even though, Conor McGregor got knocked out at the hands of Poirier in the main event of UFC 257, the respect and mutual admiration between the fighters remains the same. the CEO of McGregor Sports & Entertainment revealed that the Irishman is indeed making a $500,000 donation to Poirier's charity as he had promised. At a press conference, ahead of the fight, Dustin Poirier confirmed that McGregor's team have reached out to him regarding the donation and thanked the Irishman for supporting his charity. This is not the first time McGregor has donated to charity though.
In 2019, After their fight at UFC 242, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier exchanged fight shirts. Then, in his post-fight interview Khabib Nurmagomedov announced that he would be selling his shirt, the one Dustin Poirier had just given him and donating all the proceeds to Poirier’s charity, The Good Fight Foundation It was a touching gesture "I don’t know if he auctioned it off or if he had somebody offer him $100,000 for the shirt. I haven’t had a chance to speak with him personally to thank him I’ve only spoken with his manager but he donated the money it’s in the foundation account and yeah it happened. Outside the cage UFC fighters, are just big teddy bears with hearts of gold, they are increasingly using their public platforms to raise awareness of, and money for the causes closest to them.

Ames Te Huna
At UFC 127, the 29 year old New Zealand native generously donated all of his fight earnings to the victims of the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, a move which inspired the UFC to match his donation. Te Huna currently lives in Sydney Australia, but was born in Darfield, New Zealand, which is a neighboring town of Christchurch.
Brendan Schaub
Besides winning Knockout of the Night at UFC 128, Schaub is a two-time winner of the “Tequila Cazadores Spirit Award”. The award, is for UFC fighters who show integrity in and out of the
cage, and provides a donation to the charity of the fighter’s choosing. Schaub’s donations have gone to Doctors without Borders and the Colorado Humane Society & SPCA.

In 2008, Rich Franklin, was named an ambassador for Disabled American Veterans, a nonprofit with 1.2 million members. Franklin also supports the cause, through visits to VAs and military
hospitals public service announcements and frequent donations.
Randy Couture
Before he was a member of the UFC Hall of Fame, “The Natural” was a member of the United States Armed Forces. To give back, Couture started his own nonprofit Xtreme Couture GI Foundation, which raises money for soldiers wounded in action and their families.
